It’s the end of the year. I know it’s been depressing and it feels bleak.
But I hope everyone is healthy and safe out there! And that you cherish all your loved ones!
“I love you” are three words I said frequently to my mom this year. It’s not just due to the pandemic. She’s getting old and there are still things happening outside: car accidents, cancers, homicides. You’ll never know what will happen in the future. So always cherish the people you love while they’re still around. That’s what I felt strongly about this year.
2021 Year-End Updates
One of the greatest achievements was that I published Asphodelus: School For Ghosts Trilogy 😍
And the best part is a few libraries bought the book~ I’m super honored and delighted to have my book available in libraries overseas! It’s a dream I never thought possible and it made me happy for a very long while.
I’m also done writing Book 1 and 2 of my current WIP. In fact, I just finished writing Book 3 Chapter 5 today. I had more time to write this year (about an hour daily) due to the commute time I saved traveling to office. Been working from home for quite a long period this year.
On a side note, I took up new hobbies like modern calligraphy and watercolor. I practice them during the weekends. Of course, I’m not making masterpieces (I’m still a beginner at this). But I find these activities very creative and therapeutic and they make me feel relaxed.

New Year’s Resolution For 2022
My goal for 2022 is to finish writing the draft for Book 3. Hopefully, I can also finish editing the entire trilogy (plus all publication matters like formatting, writing the blurb, hiring book cover designer) and start writing my next WIP~
But plotting for the next WIP will probably take a while. I do have some ideas for my next story but it requires careful planning. Hence, I’ll need to check if it makes sense and will be looping in my sibling to check for plot holes 😅
I’m super excited though. After writing the dual timeline in my current trilogy WIP, I feel that I’ve learned some fundamentals. Or at least, feel comfortable switching between the two time periods. Thus, I feel like I have some foundation and I’m also ready to move on to the next challenge.
Can’t reveal much about my new story but please look forward to it! 🙊
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎅🎄🎁
