[5-Step Guide] How To Get More Book Reviews With Itsy Bitsy Book Bits

So my latest book, You From My World, only has a few reviews even after one year. I did engage ARC services from BookSirens and Hidden Gems Books but there weren’t many interested readers. As a last resort and wanting to give this baby my best shot, I decided to try Book Spotlight Showcase from Itsy Bitsy Book Bits.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can generate more book reviews with Itsy Bitsy Book Bits.

1. Sign Up To Learn More Or Book A Slot

The first thing I did was signing up a form at Itsy Bitsy Book Bits to learn more about the services they provide. You can, of course, book a slot immediately. But because it was my first time trying this and I didn’t really know exactly what their services include so I felt that it’s best to have more information. The good thing is that they reply really fast and you get very detailed information so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

They offer a few services. I would like to highlight their Book Spotlight Showcase which includes promotion at various social media channels and reviews from interested readers. As mentioned, my goal was to get more reviews hence, I chose this.

2. Book & Pay For Your Slot

Once you’re sure, you just have to sign up the form to book and pay for your slot. There are many options to choose from so you can select what is suitable for your needs and wants. This should be quite fast and straightforward.

I strongly suggest that you add a reminder to your calendar about the start and end of your book spotlight showcase. If you’re discounting your book during this period, it’s best that you have a reminder so you can prepare to change your book’s price as well as announce this sale to your fans via email, social media etc. And of course, another reminder to change the book back to its original price.

3. Prepare Everything In The Checklist

Itsy Bitsy Book Bits will email you a checklist of things required:

• Book Cover
• Book File: EPUB or PDF
• Book Retailer Links
• Book Review Links
• Author Links
• Teaser Graphics
• And many more

Most of them should be quite simple or things that you should already have. For me, only the teaser graphics were difficult. However, there are many graphic design tools that you can use so it shouldn’t be a problem. If you have the budget, you can also hire a professional designer from Fiverr Pro to create these. 4. Sit Back, Relax & Wait For Reviews

Once you pass everything to Itsy Bitsy Book Bits, your job is done and you can relax. If you give them the necessary information and documents early, you should be able to see your book on their website (even before the book spotlight showcase starts).

Here’s how my book looks like. There’s a form so interested readers can sign up to review the book. The form includes the blurb, links to buy the book at the various retailers as well as links to leave book reviews.

5. Check Your Book Reviews

Before the book spotlight showcase started, I created a reminder to screenshot the Goodreads and Amazon pages. You can do this too. This way, you can track the increase in number of book reviews.

When your book spotlight showcase is nearing its end, Itsy Bitsy Book Bits will share the list of posted review links. This is really valuable as it allows you to see exactly where the reviews are posted. But you probably will notice reviews trickling in and appearing on the various retailers like Amazon and Kobo and review sites like Goodreads and BookBub.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of my results from Itsy Bitsy Book Bits promotion:

• 31 Amazon reviews
• 10 Kobo reviews
• 37 Goodreads reviews
• 37 BookBub reviews

I’m very satisfied with the results 😆 I’ve engaged both BookSirens and Hidden Gems Books for this book but I only got a few reviews. Itsy Bitsy Book Bits, on the other hand, resulted in more reviews.
